BMS (battery management system) - PCB protection circuit for a Li-ion battery cell (Made in Japan). A battery management system (BMS) is an electronic circuit that is used to monitor and regulate a rechargeable battery system. The need for a BMS arises when several battery cells are interconnected to form a battery. The BMS should detect, monitor and correct the inevitable manufacturing-related variations in various parameters of the battery cells, such as capacity and leakage currents.

Application: Li-ion battery packs

This module is made for charging rechargeable lithium batteries using the constant-current/constant-voltage (CC/CV) charging method. In addition to safely charging a lithium battery the module also provides necessary protection required by lithium batteries. See below concerning the protection features this module provides.
